About Me

Life doesn’t always turn out the way we expected, does it? Like so many of you, I’ve walked through some pretty rough stuff: loneliness, rejection, emotional brokenness, clinical depression, breast cancer, and tragic loss.
There were seasons of my life where I wondered if I was ever going to feel JOY again.
These experiences weren’t chapters I ever would have chosen, but as I look back, I can see that God was faithfully at work, writing a beautiful story that I now get to share with you!
Here’s a bit of my story: In 2000, I was diagnosed with clinical depression and then in 2009, with an aggressive form of breast cancer.
Going through 18 months of surgeries, chemo and radiation was a life-changing experience, and incredibly, God used it all for good!
While I was undergoing treatment, He began stirring my heart to step out in faith and pursue a new calling as a Christian singer, songwriter, comedian, and speaker.
During my breast cancer journey, I was invited to participate in a documentary called Beauty and the Breast, which follows the stories of nine women facing breast cancer. Here’s an excerpt:
Not long after going into remission in 2011, I bought a big van, packed it with my gear, and hit the road with my “JOY in the Journey!” tour, bringing my music, clean comedy, and my story to audiences everywhere.
To date, He has wonderfully opened the doors for me to minister at over 500 events across the United States, Canada, and Southeast Asia. What a ride it’s been and continues to be!
